IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENT OF WEBSITE ADDRESS CHANGE
Our free website hosting facility with 00webhost is to be terminated on 9th April 2024,
resulting in the BuryWSD website no longer being available at its current address.
However, an alternative arrangement has already been put in place with InfinityFree
that allows continuation of the same content as before, but requiring a new address.

We are an enthusiastic group with a growing membership of all ages and experience who share an interest in textiles and a desire to keep the crafts of spinning weaving and dyeing alive by encouraging others to join in.
The Guild exists to provide a sociable environment for members to practice their skills, learn new techniques and pass
them on to interested beginners.
We hold twice-monthly informal meetings, with occasional talks by visiting speakers,
practical demonstrations and workshops, during which, many aspects
of our crafts (including feltmaking, knitting, crochet
and braiding) are taught and ideas and information exchanged.
During the summer months, we are regularly requested to demonstrate our skills to the public at various agricultural shows
and craft fairs held throughout
the region, not only attracting new members to our guild but also allowing us to sell items of our completed work.
A well-stocked library is available to all members and equipment can also be borrowed, making it easy to take the first steps
towards developing new skills.
We are a member of the Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, which has over
100 Guilds, mostly from the UK.
For complete information on any aspect of our guild, please browse through the website pages by means of the above links.
